Bally Sports Florida Dropping Marlins Games

Bally Sports is planning to no longer broadcast Miami Marlins games on Bally Sports Florida. Their parent company Diamond Sports Group announced in Chapter 11 bankruptcy court on Wednesday that they will end their contract agreement to carry Marlins television broadcasts. The team will need to find another way to have their telecasts over the airwaves in 2025.
The Marlins will have an effect on their overall budget. Money received from a television rights contract has an impact on revenues to offset expenses like team salaries.
Fox Sports Florida was rebranded to Bally Sports Florida in March 2021. Bally Sports Florida broadcasted Miami Marlins and Florida Panthers games while their sister-station Bally Sports Sun aired Miami Heat contests. The Panthers replaced Bally Sports Florida as their television partner with Scripps Sports back in July.
