Hurricanes Rip Through Florida State

The University of Miami Hurricanes took the Florida State University Seminoles 36-14 at Hard Rock Stadium on Saturday night. It was the renewal of their yearly rivalry between both teams.
Miami(8-0, 4-0) had a 7-0 advantage at the end of the first quarter. The Hurricanes got a touchdown early in the second quarter and Florida State(1-7, 1-6) matched it during the middle of the frame. The U added a field goal with no time remaining in the second for a 17-7 halftime lead.
The Hurricanes scored 19 unanswered points in the second half. They collected two field goals in the third quarter and led 23-7. The Canes reached the end zone twice in the final quarter for a 36-7 lead. The Seminoles picked up a meaningless touchdown with 18 seconds remaining in the contest and trailed 36-14.
