LeBron James has been named the NBA Most Valuable Player for 2011-12. He has now won the annual award for the third time in his nine-year career. Only seven other players in NBA history have received the MVP award at least three times.
James won it in 2008-09 and 2009-10 while with the Cleveland Cavaliers. This is the first time that a player from the Miami Heat won the award. James averaged 27.1 with 6.2 assists and 7.9 rebounds per game. He led the team to another Southeast Division title during the abbreviated season of 66 games.
