Major League Baseball has released the proposed schedule of the Miami Marlins for the 20l6 regular season. It will the fifth season that the franchise will play their home games at Marlins Park.
The Marlins and National League East division teams will play interleague games against clubs from the American League Central division. The Fish faced against teams in the American League East division during the 20l5 campaign.
Miami will open the 20l6 season with a two-game series at home against the Detroit Tigers and former Marlin Miguel Cabrera. The last time they met the Tigers was the final game of the 20l4 season where Henderson Alvarez pitched a no-hitter against the playoff-bound team at Marlins Park.
The Fish will play a two-game series at home and on the road against their cross-state rival the Tampa Bay Rays. Other American League Central division teams that will make an appearance in South Florida are the Chicago White Sox and Kansas City Royals in the month of August.
