The Miami Marlins got a 4-0 shutout victory over the Atlanta Braves at Turner Field on Monday night. The Fish are now 2-2 on the six-game road trip. The Braves have lost six straight games, l3 of their last l4 games and l7 of their last their 20 games.
The Marlins took the lead as Cole Gillespie hit his second home run of the season during the second inning with one out on a 0-l pitch against Shelby Miller.
Matt Marksberry and Atlanta(54-77) surrendered two more runs in the eighth inning. Ichiro Suzuki walked with two out and then scored on a double to deep right by Martin Prado. Justin Bour followed with a double into right field to score Prado.
Miami(53-79) extended their lead in the top of the ninth with a two-out rally. Adeiny Hechavarria reached first on an infield hit and went to second on a balk by Peter Moylan when he dropped the ball while attempting to pitch. Christian Yelich knocked in Hechavarria with a single into center field.
