The Marlins hit three consecutive home runs in the eighth inning and extended their lead to 5-1. Jorge Soler lifted a solo home run to left field on a 1-2 pitch for his 29th homer of the year. Luis Arraez homered off the right-field foul pole on a 1-0 count for his fifth of the campaign. Josh Bell then smashed a solo homer to right field on a 1-1 pitch for his third round-tripper as a Marlins player and 16th home run this season. It was just the second time in Marlins franchise history that they compiled back-to-back-to-back home runs.
