Rays Sweep Marlins

The Tampa Bay Rays beat the Miami Marlins 3-2 at Tropicana Field on Sunday. The Rays were able to sweep the three-game series against the Fish and tied a franchise record with 97 wins in a regular season.
Tampa Bay(97-59) chalked up two runs in the bottom of the first. Nelson Cruz hit a sacrifice fly to center which brought in Manuel Margot. Yandy Diaz followed with a sacrifice fly to right field and Wander Franco scored.
The Rays increased it to a three-run margin in the fifth inning. Cruz knocked in Franco with a base hit into left field.
Miami(64-91) closed it to 3-1 in the top of the seventh. Eddy Alvarez powered a ground-rule down the right-field line for Joe Panik to score.
The Marlins had one final chance in the ninth inning, however they felt short. Lewin Diaz belted a 3-2 pitch over the right-center field wall for his seventh home run of the season.
