Inter Miami CF Handles Nashville SC

Inter Miami CF held off Nashville SC 2-1 at GEODIS Park on Saturday night. It was the return for the Herons to a familiar venue.
They won the Leagues Cup championship game there last year over Nashville SC. Both squads also faced each other earlier this year in the CONCACAF Champions Cup Round of 16.
A large portion of the starting lineup for Inter Miami CF was not available. Players like Lionel Messi and Luis Arraez were playing for their home countries in the Copa America.
Inter Miami CF(13-3-5) got out in front 1-0 in the 40th minute of play. They took a right-corner kick and Ian Fray was able to find the back of the net on a header from seven yards out. The Herons made it 2-0 in the 44th minute when Jordi Alba blasted a 26-yard volley shot with his left foot.
In the second half, Nashville SC(6-6-8) closed it to 2-1 in the 73rd minute. Hany Mukhtar placed in a penalty kick with his right foot into the low left corner of the cage.
