Royals Ease By Marlins

     The Kansas City Royals waltzed by the Miami Marlins 5-1 at Kaufman Stadium on Wednesday. The Marlins will not visit Kansas City again until 2026. The Fish next have a four-game set at the Philadelphia Phillies. The Royals host the Cleveland Guardians tomorrow. 
     Miami(28-52) pulled out to a 1-0 advantage in the top of the second. Nick Fortes knocked in Vidal Brujan with a base hit into right field. 
     In the eighth inning, Kansas City(44-38) overtook the Marlins with five runs for a 5-1 lead. Vinnie Pasquantino singled into center field and Bobby Witt Jr. crossed the plate. Salvador Perez followed with a double the left-field line to score pinch-runner Dairon Blanco. Nick Lifton then drove in Perez on a base hit into left field. 
     The Royals loaded the bases later in the frame. Freddy Fermin singled into center field to score Lifton and M.J. Melendez.
