Inter Miami CF overcame the Philadelphia Union 2-1 at Subaru Park on Saturday night. The Herons, who did not have Lionel Messi and Luis Suarez available tonight, are now 8-1-2 in their past 11 games. The two teams last met in the Leagues Cup Semifinals last year.
Philadelphia(4-5-8) quickly got out in front 1-0 in the third minute. Mikael Uhre was able to find the net on a left-footed shot from 14 yards.
In the second half, Inter Miami CF(11-3-5) evened it up 1-1 at the 47th minute. Julian Gressel volleyed the ball in from 11 yards away with his right foot.
The Herons broke the tie during stoppage time for a 2-1 lead. Leonardo Frugis Afonso went on a breakaway up the middle of the field and blasted a left-footed shot from 12 yards out.
