Marlins Blitz Mariners

The Miami Marlins breezed by the Seattle Mariners 6-4 on Sunday at loanDepot park. The Marlins finished and concluded their six-game homestand.
The Fish will visit the Kansas City Royals tomorrow. The Mariners will have the shorter trip across the state to Tampa Bay and take on the Rays Monday.
Miami(27-50) rocketed out to a 4-0 in the bottom of the first. Jake Burger knocked in Jazz Chisholm Jr. with a base hit into left field. Nick Gordon followed with a three-run homer to right field on a 2-1 pitch with Jesus Sanchez and Burger aboard. It ended up being the seventh home run of the season for Gordon.
The Marlins made it 5-0 during the second inning. Chisholm singled into right field and Vidal Brujan crossed the plate.
In the third inning, the Fish extended it to 6-0. Sanchez smashed a solo home run to right-center field on 0-1 count for his seventh homer of the 2024 campaign.
Seattle(45-35) chalked up two runs in the top of the fourth and were down 6-2. Luke Raley collected his ninth homer this year with a two-run home run to left field. Dominic Canzone scored in front of him on the play.
The Mariners put up two more runs in the seventh inning to make it 6-4. Randy Bliss grounded out to short and Raley reached home. J.P. Crawford came up next and drove in Mitch Garver on a single up the middle.
