Jim Morris Done As Hurricanes Season Ends

The University of Miami Hurricanes baseball team was not selected to the NCAA Tournament for the second straight year. They had appeared in a record 44 consecutive years in the postseason up until 2016.
Jim Morris finished his long tenure as the Hurricanes manager with the end of the regular season. He replaced Ron Fraser at the post in 1993 and remained there for 25 years. Morris led the Canes to two national titles and 13 College World Series appearances. He was the manager at Georgie Tech prior to his arrival in South Florida.
