Phillies Stop Marlins

The Philadelphia Phillies avoided a three-game sweep with a 4-0 shutout win over the Miami Marlins on Wednesday night at Marlins Park. The loss snapped the Marlins four-game winning streak. Miami(11-19) play 22 of their next 32 games on the road.
It took just four pitches for Philadelphia(17-13) to get out to the lead against Marlins starting pitcher Jose Urena. Cesar Hernandez smacked a solo home run to right-center field on a 2-1 count.
The Phillies made it 2-0 in the top of the second inning. Aaron Nola reached base on an Urena fielding error and Pedro Florimon scored on the play.
The Phils put up two runs in the eighth inning. Maikel Franco knocked in Aaron Altherr with a double into left field. Florimon later grounded out to first for Franco to score.
Philadelphia compiled two additional runs in the top of the ninth to make it a six-run margin. Odubel Herrera drove in Hernandez on a base hit into left. Altherr came up next and popped a sacrifice fly to left field for Rhys Hoskins to score.
