The Miami Marlins were unable to hold a three-run lead and lost to the Chicago Cubs 4-3 on Tuesday night at Wrigley Field. The Fish, who have fallen in four of their last six games, finish their six-game road trip on Wednesday.
In the first inning, Miami(13-22) was able to gain traction with a two-out rally. After Starlin Castro singled into left, Justin Bour blasted a two-run homer to left field on a 1-2 pitch. It was his seventh home run of the season. Brian Anderson came up next with a double off the center-field wall and then scored on a Derek Dietrich double into the left-field corner.
Chicago(18-15) would get back in the game during the bottom of the second. Pinch-hitter David Bote doubled to left field for Victor Caratini and Ian Happ to cross the plate.
The Cubs tied the contest up 3-3 during the bottom of the sixth inning. Caratini grounded into a fielder's choice to short for Kris Bryant to score.
It would be the same exact situation when the Cubbies took their first lead of the game in the eighth inning. Bryant again got home when Caratini reached base on a fielder's choice to second for the game-winning run.
