The Miami/Fort Lauderdale market ended up in a tie between Entercom Communications sister stations for the top sports format radio station. It finishes a run where Sports Talk 790 The Ticket WAXY-AM was in first place by themselves for four consecutive months.
The Ticket remained at a 0.9 for the fifth straight month. The station has been helped with ESPN Radio game broadcasts of the NBA playoffs and Sunday night baseball. In addition, the station finished their first season with Miami Hurricanes baseball broadcasts.
Miami Sports Radio 560 WQAM-AM rose from a 0.7 to a 0.9 in the period. The station showed improvement with the same weekday lineup and no game broadcasts.
Miami Sports 940 WINZ-AM stayed at a 0.3 for the third consecutive month. They were able to maintain their audience even as the Marlins fell to last place in the National League East division.
