The Cardinal Gibbons Chiefs go across town and tangle with the St. Thomas Aquinas Raiders at Brian Piccolo Stadium in Fort Lauderdale on Friday night. It will be the first time that both schools meet each other on the gridiron since 2010.
Cardinal Gibbons(2-0) has not yet played a contest on the road. The Chiefs have victories over Dade County foes Monsignor Pace 28-12 and Doral Academy 35-3. Their offense is built on their passing game with Brody Palhegyi at quarterback. He intends to find wide receivers Troy Stellato, Bryson Williams, Gabriel Morgan, Davon Kiser and Luke Dean. Running back Torrence Miller will get his share of carries.
St. Thomas Aquinas(1-0) opened up their season with a home victory over TRU Prep Academy 25-13 last week. STA is currently on a 16-game winning streak. Quarterback Zion Turner looks to bring the Raiders offense down the field with his running and passing ability. Running back Anthony Hankerson is expected to get many rushing opportunities and wide receiver Bralon Brown can be a primary target for Turner.
