Inter Miami CF were defeated by FC Dallas 2-1 on Wednesday night at Toyota Stadium. They remain in contention for an Eastern Conference playoff spot.
It was just the third time this season that Inter Miami CF played outside of the Eastern Time Zone. They started the 2020 season in Los Angeles against LAFC on March 1 and played Nashville SC in Tennessee on August 30.
Inter Miami CF got the only tally of the first half. Rodolfo Pizarro received a pass beyond the defense at the top of the box, dribbled the ball twice and placed a right-footed shot into the net from nine yards out in the 33rd minute.
The second half came and FC Dallas tied the contest 1-1 during the 60th minute. Franco Jara put in a penalty kick into the low left corner of the cage.
It became a 2-1 for FC Dallas in the 82nd minute. Ryan Hollingshead gave them their first lead of the game with a one-time shot from seven yards away.
