The Champagnat Catholic Lions make the long trip up north to Palm Beach County. They challenge the American Heritage Stallions at The Corral in Delray Beach on Friday night.
Champagnat Catholic(3-2), the defending FHSAA Class 2A state champions, have played a competitive schedule so far this season. After a season opening loss to Class 3A state champion Chaminade-Madonna, the Lions compiled wins over Somerset Academy Silver Palms, Dade Christian and Monsignor Pace. They fell to TRU Prep Academy 47-29 last week. Running back Donovan Jones will get the majority of carries from the backfield. Quarterback Tyrous Taylor calls the signals for the team on offense.
American Heritage(1-1) had their game cancelled last week when the American Collegiate team failed to show up due to bus trouble. They Stallions will host their third game of the campaign. The Stallions lost to Bishop Verot 19-0 and prevailed over Benjamin 24-3. Quarterback Dylan Rizk intends to find wide receivers Bradyn Butler and Brandon Schabert on pass receptions. Expect running back Trey Rainey to get some rushing opportunities.
