The Palm Beach Gardens Gators got by the Palm Beach Lakes Rams 16-8 on Saturday. The season opener for both teams was played at Jupiter High School because all Palm Beach County public school games have been condensed to three locations this season.

In the second quarter, Palm Beach Gardens(1-0) made it 10-0 with 3:39 left. Quarterback Lynden Moss fired the ball to the right sideline and wide receiver Michael Wright III sprinted 73 yards for a touchdown.
The Gators extended it to a 16-point margin at 6:28 of the third quarter. Running back Jacory Brown raced around the right end and scored from 36 yards away.
Palm Beach Lakes(0-1) finally scored with 6:05 remaining in the fourth quarter. Running back Antonio Outler took a direct snap, busted through the right side of the line and reached the end zone from two yards out. They made the two-point conversion and trailed 16-8.
