The Atlanta Braves blanked the Miami Marlins 5-0 at loanDepot park on Friday night. The Braves shut out Miami(38-49) just seven days ago in Georgia.
Atlanta(43-44) roared out to a 1-0 lead in the top of the first. Freddie Freeman blasted a solo home run to center field on the first pitch. It ended up being the 18th homer of the season for Freeman.
The Braves added two runs in the seventh inning for a three-run lead. Ozzie Albies doubled into left field for Ronald Acuna Jr. to score. Austin Riley followed with a triple to left and Albies reached home.
It became 4-0 for Atlanta in the top of the eighth. Orlando Arcia hit a double to deep left and Dansby Swanson crossed the plate. The Braves picked up one more run in the ninth inning when Swanson drove in Riley on a base hit to right field.
