Lindy Ruff has been nominated for the Jack Adams Award which goes to the NHL Coach of the Year. The other two nominees are John Cooper of the Tampa Bay Lightning and Dan Muse of the Pittsburgh Penguins.
Ruff rejoined the Sabres organization prior to the 2024-25 season for his second stint as their head coach. He guided Buffalo to the Atlantic Division and snapped an NHL-record 14 consecutive seasons without reaching the Stanley Cup Playoffs.
He was an assistant coach during the first four seasons of the Florida Panthers franchise from 1993-94 to 1996-97. Ruff was named the head coach of the Sabres before the 1997-98 season and led them to an Eastern Conference title in 1999.
