Panthers Win Southeast Division
The Florida Panthers captured their first division title in franchise history on Saturday night with a 4-1 victory over the Carolina Hurricanes at the Bank Atlantic Center. As the Southeast Division champions and number three seed in the Eastern Conference, the Panthers will host the New Jersey Devils in the first round of the NHL playoffs. The last time Florida went to the postseason was in 1999-2000 and they were swept four games to zero by the Devils. The first game of the series will be played in Sunrise on Friday night.
