Andy Slater began his stint at 940 The Sports Animal WINZ-AM from 2 to 5 p.m. on Monday. His new show takes one hour away from Jay Mohr who had held the midday shift from noon until 3p.m. since January 2013. Slater had been employed at 640 Sports WMEN-AM from April 2008 until December 2013. He was elevated to the midday host position at that station in April 2011.
A big announcement was made several minutes into the first show that former Miami Dolphins running back Troy Stradford would be a part-time co-host on the program three days a week. Both Slater and Stradford worked different shows during the midday block at 640 Sports until Stradford was let go in October 2012. Stradford joined WINZ as a part-time mid-afternoon sports host with Larry Milian and Phil Domanic in November 2012 and was promoted to full-time status in January 2013.
