The National Hockey League announced on Tuesday that BB&T Center in Sunrise will host the 2015 NHL Draft. The two-day session will be held in late June 2015. The arena in South Florida had hosted a previous NHL Draft back in 2001. The biggest Florida Panthers items that day was the selection of Stephen Weiss by the team and Rob Niedermeyer was traded away.
The New Jersey Devils hosted the draft last year in Newark and the Philadelphia Flyers will host the 2014 version this June. The NHL Draft is an event where hockey operations personnel from all NHL franchises meet for several days to select future prospects.
