Lost Weekend For Panthers

The Florida Panthers played two games on the road this weekend and came out with one point of a possible four overall. The team played against the Columbus Blue Jackets on Saturday and were defeated in a 4-3 shootout. It was followed on Sunday where they fell to the Minnesota Wild 3-1.
The Panthers played a close game on Sunday in Minnesota. The Wild got on the scoreboard just 5:18 into the first period. Zach Parise connected a pass from the left corner to the front of the net and Charlie Coyle scored from the crease area to give Minnesota a 1-0 lead.
Florida tied it 1-1 in the second period on the power play at 7:34. Jussi Jokinen performed a back-and-forth pass with Aleksander Barkov in the low right circle. He then sent a cross-ice pass to a wide open Aaron Ekblad in the low slot and he snapped a shot for his 12th goal of the season.
Minnesota pulled away in the final period with two goals. Erik Haula skated through the slot area and scored an unassisted goal at 10:29. Jason Pominville clinched the victory with a power-play goal with 39 seconds left.
