The Florida Panthers traded forward Derick Brassard and a conditional 2020 sixth-round pick to the Colorado Avalanche for a 2020 third-round pick. Both teams will be facing each other tonight in Denver.
He was acquired earlier this month on February 1 along with Riley Sheahan from the Pittsburgh Penguins for Nick Bjugstad and Jared McCann. Brassard played 10 games with the Panthers and compiled one goal along with three assists. His only goal for the team was seven seconds into a period in his lone road game against the Washington Capitals. It was the fastest goal to begin a period for Florida in franchise history. He previously played with the Columbus Blue Jackets, New York Rangers and Ottawa Senators.
