The Miami Heat retired Chris Bosh's number 1 jersey on Tuesday night as they lost to the Orlando Magic 104-99 at American Airlines Arena. Bosh joined Alonzo Mourning(No. 33),Tim Hardaway(No. 10) and Shaquille O'Neal(No. 32) as the only players to have their uniform numbers retired by the club. The Magic passed the Heat for the final playoff spot in the Eastern Conference and are ahead by a half game.
Miami(36-38) jumped out to a 14-5 lead to begin the contest and were up 32-18 after one quarter. They stayed ahead 51-42 by the time halftime approached. After the banner ceremony for Bosh, Orlando(37-38) went on a 34-19 run to start the second half and led 76-70 at the end of three quarters. The Magic had a 91-84 lead with 5:56 left in the fourth. The Heat chopped the deficit and the closest they got to Orlando was when they trailed 93-91 with 3:20 to go.
Dwyane Wade compiled 22 points, seven assists and seven rebounds for the Heat. Dion Waiters dropped in a team-high 26 points while Josh Richardson added 17. Nikola Vucevic put together a double-double for the Magic with 24 points and 16 rebounds.
