The Miami Heat knocked off the New York Knicks 98-88 at Madison Square Garden on Monday night. The Heat have won seven of their last nine road games and have defeated the Knicks in nine of their last 11 meetings.
Miami(23-24) climbed to a 21-16 lead at the end of the first quarter. New York(24-23) bounced and moved ahead 43-36 by halftime. The Heat opened up the second half with a 9-2 spurt and outscored the Knicks 39-21 during the third quarter for a 75-64 lead.
The Heat was led by Jimmy Butler with a game-high 27 points. Bam Adebayo compiled 20 points and 17 rebounds for a double-double. Tyler Herro put in 18 points while Duncan Robinson scored 14 points.
Julius Randle compiled 22 points and eight rebounds for New York. Derrick Rose poured in 16 points and Immanuel Quickley added 12 points.
