Matt Jones captured The Honda Classic at PGA National in Palm Beach Gardens on Sunday. He finished the tournament with a -12 which was five strokes ahead of Brandon Hagy. Jones picked up $1.26 million in prize money for the win.
Jones was -9 at the end of the first round and leading by three strokes over Aaron Wise and Russell Henley. Wise led by three strokes after two rounds with Jones and Hagy behind him.
In the third round, Jones was back on top of the leaderboard with a -10 followed by Wise and J.B. Holmes with a -7. Jones shot a -2 in the final round with nobody near to challenge for the victory.
