Angels Outpace Marlins

The Los Angeles Angels beat the Miami Marlins 3-1 in the second contest of a three-game series at loanDepot park on Tuesday night. The Marlins are winless in the 2024 season for their worst start in franchise history with a 0-6 record.
Los Angeles(3-2) scored first during the top of the fourth. Aaron Hicks picked up his first homer with his team. He cracked a solo home run inside the right-field foul pole on a 1-0 pitch.
The Angels expanded it to a three-run gap in the top of the sixth inning. Hicks singled up the middle for Zach Neto to score. Two batters later, Taylor Ward knocked in Hicks on a base hit into left field.
Miami(0-6) placed their only run of the contest and prevented the shutout in the bottom of the ninth. Bryan De La Cruz smacked a solo home run to right-center field on a 1-0 count for his first homer this year.
