Yankees Bomb Marlins

The New York Yankees pounded the Miami Marlins 7-0 at Yankee Stadium on Monday night. The Marlins, who were shut out, will now visit New York and face the Yankees in a series every two years based on the new Major League Baseball scheduling.
New York(9-2) chalked up six runs in the bottom of the fourth for a 6-0 lead. Anthony Volpe smacked a three-run homer to left-center field on a 1-2 count for his second home run of the year. Giancarlo Stanton and Anthony Rizzo scored in front of him on the play.
It became a six-run margin for Yanks just five batters later. Juan Soto hammered a three-run home run to right field on the first pitch with Alex Verdugo and Jose Trevino aboard for his second homer with his new team.
Miami(1-10) gave up one more run in the bottom of the fifth and were down 7-0. Verdugo singled to center field and Stanton crossed the plate.
