Nationals Sweep Marlins

The Washington Nationals beat the Miami Marlins 7-2 at loanDepot park on Monday night. The Fish were swept in their second straight series and have lost seven consecutive games.
The Nationals moved out to a 2-0 lead in the top of the third. C.J. Abrams powered a two-run homer to right field with Alex Call aboard. It was the seventh home run for Abrams this season.
Washington(14-14) increased it to 3-0 in the top of the fifth. Jesse Winker walked with the bases loaded for Jacob Young to score.
Miami(6-24) picked up two runs in the bottom of the sixth and were down 3-2. Jazz Chisholm Jr. walloped a two-run home run to center field for his fourth homer of the year. Vidal Brujan scored in front of him on the play.
It became 7-2 for the Nats in the seventh inning as they added three runs. Winker grounded into a force out and Young crossed the plate. Abrams later in the frame scored on a wild pitch.
Joey Meneses drove in Winker with a ground-rule double to left-center field. Ildemaro Vargas followed with a base hit to left field and Meneses reached home.
