Angels Overcome Marlins

The Los Angeles Angels came back from four runs down to stop the Miami Marlins 7-4 at loanDepot park on Monday night. The Marlins are still winless so far in the 2024 campaign and started off with a 0-5 start for the first time in franchise history.
Miami(0-5) chalked up four runs in the bottom of the first for a 4-0 lead. Jake Burger singled through the right side of the infield to score Luis Arraez. Jazz Chisholm Jr. followed with an RBI-single to right field which brought in Josh Bell. Four batters later, Nick Gordon doubled into right-center field for Burger and Chisholm to cross the plate.
Los Angeles(2-2) cut it to 4-1 in the top of the second. Aaron Hicks grounded out to first and Taylor Ward rushed home.
The Angels made it 4-2 in the top of the fourth. Mike Trout smashed a solo homer to left field for his second home run of the season.
In the sixth inning, Los Angeles tied it up 4-4. Former Park Vista High School and Florida Atlantic University player Nolan Schanuel homered to right field on a 1-2 count for his second career home run. Trout came up next and collected his second home run of the game and third home run of the year with a 473-foot homer that went off the back stadium window in left-center field. It was the fifth longest home run in stadium history.
The Angels came back and overtook the Fish in the eighth inning for a 5-4 lead. Taylor Ward grounded out to second and Anthony Rendon scored.
It became 6-4 for Los Angeles in the top of the ninth. Jo Adell knocked in Logan O'Hoppe with a base hit into center. Adell later scored on a balk for a 7-4 advantage.
