The Miami Marlins snapped a four-game losing streak with a 3-0 victory over the Arizona Diamondbacks at Chase Field on Tuesday night. The Fish also ended an eight-game losing streak on the road with their last win away from Miami on July 3 in Chicago. The Diamondbacks have lost seven of their last eight games.
Miami(39-55) had to wait until the fifth inning to take the lead against Arizona(43-49) and their starting pitcher Jeremy Hellickson. J.T. Realmuto doubled to left with two out and scored when Adeiny Hechavarria followed with a base hit into center field.
Michael Morse led off the seventh inning for the Marlins and crushed a 2-2 pitch over the right-field fence for his fourth home run of the season to give the Fish a 2-0 margin.
Matt Stites stepped in to pitch for the Diamondbacks in the top of the eighth and surrendered one run. Pinch-hitter Miguel Rojas began with a single to center field and was out at second on a fielder's choice with Ichiro Suzuki at-bat. After Martin Prado grounded out to third, Christian Yelich knocked in Suzuki with a base hit to left field.
