James White Retires

Former St. Thomas Aquinas and current New England Patriots running back James White has retired from the National Football League. He played all eight seasons in the NFL with the Patriots.
White was a running back for the St. Thomas Aquinas Raiders while in high school. He helped them win consecutive FHSAA Class 5A state titles in 2007 and 2008. White also contributed to STA capturing the 2008 national championship.
After a four-year stay with the University of Wisconsin Badgers, he was selected in the fourth round by New England in the 2014 NFL Draft. He was part of three Super Bowl titles with the Patriots.
White is most known for scoring the first overtime touchdown in Super Bowl history as the Pats overcame a 25-point deficit against the Atlanta Falcons in Super Bowl LI. He became the first player to score three touchdowns in one Super Boal game.
