Cardinal Gibbons Cruises By Key West

The reigning FHSAA Class 4A state champion Cardinal Gibbons Chiefs made a long trip down south and picked up a 63-7 win over the Key West Conchs on Friday night at Tommy Roberts Memorial Stadium. Both high school football teams have never faced each other before due to different classifications and distance between both schools.
Cardinal Gibbons(5-0) continued their dominance this season and have outscored their opponents 173-33 this season. The Chiefs host their longest continuous foe and crosstown rivals the American Heritage Patriots next week in a Class 2M District 12 contest.
Key West(2-3) had won two straight games until tonight. They will remain home in a week and challenge the Bishop Verot Vikings.
