Twins Rout Marlins

The Minnesota Twins pounded the Miami Marlins 11-1 at loanDepot park on Monday night. It is part of the new Major League Baseball regular season format where National League teams will host American League teams in a three-game series once every two years.
Marlins second baseman Luis Arraez faced his former team. He was traded to the Miami during the offseason after capturing the 2022 American League batting crown. Arraez ended up going 2-for-4 with one run batted in.
Johnny Cueto made his playing debut with the Miami Marlins. He allowed four runs on three hits in pitching just over an inning.
Minnesota(4-0) jumped on Cueto immediately. Max Kepler hit a leadoff solo home run to right-center field on the fourth pitch of the game.
The Twins got to Cueto early in the top of the second to lead 4-0. Joey Gallo lined a three-run homer to right field on the first pitch. Jose Miranda and Nick Gordon scored in front of him on the home run. They added two runs in the third inning and two runs in the fourth inning for an eight-run gap.
Miami(1-4) collected their only run of the contest in the bottom of the fifth and were down 8-1. Arraez singled into right field for Bryan De La Cruz to score.
It became 10-1 for Minnesota in the seventh inning. Trevor Larnach powered a two-run homer over the center-field fence on a 1-0 pitch with Carlos Correa aboard.
