The Tampa Bay Rays downed the Miami Marlins 4-1 at Tropicana Field on Tuesday night. The Marlins have lost nine of 10 games since the All-Star Game break.
The Rays have defeated the Fish eight straight contests. The Marlins now have a 10-game road losing streak.
Tampa Bay(62-42) got three runs during the second inning to take the lead. Josh Lowe drove in Brandon Lowe on a base hit up the middle. Two batters later, Yandy Diaz doubled to left field for Manuel Margot and Josh Lowe to cross the plate.
Miami(54-48) picked up a run in the top of the third and trailed 3-1. Rays starting pitcher Tyler Glasnow threw a wild pitch and Joey Wendle scored.
The Rays made it a three-run gap again in the bottom of the sixth. Brandon Lowe smacked a solo home run to right field on the first pitch for his 11th homer this season.
