Columbus Faces Spanish RIver

     The Columbus Explorers challenge the Spanish River Sharks in Dade County on Thursday night in a FHSAA Class7A regional quarterfinal. Columbus(6-3) has captured a state championship in the past two seasons while Spanish River(7-3) reached the postseason for the second straight time. 

     It was the first football postseason game played in South Florida this year. All other first-round contests in the FHSAA Playoffs will occur tomorrow. It stated oof the new state playoff classifications implemented by the Florida Athletic Association in 2024.
