South Florida High Schools In Second Round

     There were 59 tri-county South Florida high schools that entered the 2024 FHSAA Football Playoffs. 32 teams advanced to the second round of the postseason. 
     Palm Beach County went from 16 teams to 10. Atlantic, Palm Beach Central, Boca Raton, West Boca Raton, Jupiter, Pahokee, Cardinal Newman, Benjamin, The King's Academy and St. Andrew's moved to the next round. Glades Central, Santaluces, Spanish River, Royal Palm Beach, Somerset Academy Canyons and St. John Paul II fell. 
     Broward County dropped from 19 high schools to 12. St. Thomas Aquinas, Cardinal Gibbons, Chaminade-Madonna, American Heritage, Blanche Ely, Dillard, Monarch, Miramar, Piper, Western, West Broward and Archbishop McCarthy prevailed. Plantation, Coconut Creek, Somerset Academy, Calvary Christian Academy, Flanagan, South Broward and Somerset Academy Key lost. 
     Dade County shifted from 24 teams to 10. Columbus, Booker T. Washington, Miami Northwestern, Miami Edison, Miami Norland, Monsignor Pace, South Dade, Southridge, Tru North Academy and Immaculata-La Salle won. Carol City, North Miami Beach, North Miami, Doral Academy, Hialeah, Homestead, Mater Academy, Miami Jackson, Miami Palmetto, Ransom Everglades, Archbishop Carroll, Goleman, Gulliver Prep and Palmer Trinity were defeated.
