Avalanche Streak By Panthers

     The Florida Panthers were outscored by the Colorado Avalanche 7-4 on Saturday night at Amerant Bank Arena. The Panthers have lost three straight contests and five of the past sux games. The Avalanche increased their winning streak to three games. 
     Carter Verhaeghe gave Florida(12-8-1) a 1-0 lead on a snap shot just 52 seconds into the contest. Jonathan Drouin tied it up 1-1for the Avs on a deflected shot at 9:13. The Cats retook the lead 2-1 with 4:16 remaining in the first on a tally by Aleksander Barkov with a backhand shot.  
     Colorado(12-9-0) piled on four unanswered second-period goals for a 5--2 lead. Drouin, Logan O'Connor, Samuel Girard and Mikko Rantanen all found the net. Sam Bennett gave the Panthers a power-play goal with 1:20 left and they trailed 5-3. 
     In the third period, the Avalanche got goals from Oliver Kylington with 4:11 to go and Valeri Nichushkin getting an empty-net tally with 2:45 remaining. for a 7-3 advantage. Anton Lundell collected his seventh goal of the season for the Cats with 1:43 to go.
