Cubs Wallop Marlins

The Chicago Cubs bashed the Miami Marlins 14-1 on Tuesday night at loanDepot park. The Marlins had their three-game winning streak snapped. The Cubs have won six of their past eight contests.
Chicago(29-20) rocketed out to a 1-0 lead in the top of the first. Kyle Tucker smacked a solo home run to right-center field on a 3-1 pitch for his 11th homer of the season. The Cubbies now lead the majors with 56 two-out, extra base hits this year.
Miami(19-28) evened it up 1-1 in the bottom of the third. Nick Fortes cracked a solo homer to left-center field on the first pitch for his first homer of the year.
The Cubs picked up eight runs in the top of the sixth and led 9-1. Dansby Swanson knocked in Seiya Suzuki on a base hit to center field. Pete Crow-Armstrong followed with a single into left field and Tucker scored. Nico Hoerner then singled with the bases loaded through the right side for Carson Kelly and Swanson to reach home.
Justin Turner came up next and hit a sacrifice fly to center field for Crow-Armstrong to score. Matt Shaw then drove in Hoerner as he doubled into the right-field corner. Suzuki capped the frame with a two-run homer to right-center field on a 1-0 count with Shaw aboard to make it 9-1. It turned out to be the 12th home run of the season for Suzuki.
The Marlins placed shortstop Javier Sanoja as the pitcher for the top of the ninth and he surrendered five runs to the Cubbies. Ian Happ began the rally with a base hit into right field to score Crow-Armstrong. Suzuki then doubled to the left-field fence which scored Jon Berti and Turner. Happ and Suzuki scored next on a Busch double into the right-center field alley for a 14-1 advantage.
