Panthers & Oilers Stanley Cup Final Rematch

It will be a rematch for the Stanley Cup as the Florida Panthers challenge the Edmonton Oilers in the 2025 Stanley Cup Final. Game 1 will be held in Edmonton on June 4. The Panthers defeated the Oilers 4-3 in the best-of-seven series last year.
It is the 12th title rematch in back-to-back seasons. The defending Stanley Cup champion has regained the Stanley Cup on seven occasions. The last time was in 1978 when the Montreal Canadiens beat the Boston Bruins.
Florida will look to repeat as Stanley Cup champions. They will attempt to become the 10th NHL franchise to win back-to-back titles. The Panthers won the Eastern Conference title for the third straight time and advanced to the Stanley Cup Final for fourth time in franchise history.
Edmonton won the Western Conference title for the second straight season. The Oilers have not won a Stanley Cup since 1990. Edmonton will be making their ninth Stanley Cup Final appearance. They have captured five Stanley Cups in franchise history. No Canadian-based team has won the Stanley Cup since the Montreal Canadiens in 1993.
