Former local high school player Amari Cooper has been officially traded by the Dallas Cowboys to the Cleveland Browns. The deal also involved several 2022 draft picks in the later rounds exchanged between both clubs.
Cooper played high school football with the Miami Northwestern Bulls. He then went to the University of Alabama for three seasons and helped the Crimson Tide win the BCS National Championship in 2012.
He was selected fourth overall by the Raiders in the 2015 NFL Draft. Cooper was with that organization and was traded away midway through the 2018 season to the Dallas Cowboys. Cooper has 517 pass receptions for 7,076 receiving yards and 46 touchdowns in 108 games during his seven-year NFL career.
