The University of Miami Hurricanes advanced in the NCAA Men's Basketball Tournament as they defeated the Iowa State University Cyclones 70-56 in the Midwest Region semifinal on Friday night at United Center. The Hurricanes advanced to the Elite Eight for the first time in school history.
Kameron McGusty led the Canes with 27 points, Charlie Moore had nine assists and Sam Waardenburg chalked up eight rebounds. Miami was up 32-28 at halftime and they pulled away late in the second half. The Hurricanes will challenge top-seeded Kansas University Jayhawks on Sunday in the regional final with the winner going on to the Final Four next Saturday.
