South Florida Drops To 14 Sports Radio Stations

     The number of sports talk format radio stations in South Florida is now at 14. The high point in the region was 16 back in March 2020. A Fort Myers translator at 103.3 FM flipped from sports to rock music last week. 

     ESPN Southwest Florida WBCN-AM 770 is the only sports radio station with its own transmitter in that media market. Its signal is on two Fort Myers translators at 98.1 FM and 104.3 FM. The Fox Sports Radio signal is still piped at 105.9 on a Naples translator.

     Miami has four sports stations with AM 560 Sports WQAM-AM, Sports Talk 790 The Ticket WAXY-AM, Fox Sports 940 WINZ-AM and Unanimo Deportes 990 WNYM-AM. West Palm Beach consists of four with ESPN West Palm 106.3 WUUB-FM, Deportes Radio 760 AM WEFL-AM, Fox Sports 640 South Florida WMEN-AM and Sports Radio 1230 The Zone WBZT-AM. Key West carries Sports Radio 1600 WKWF-AM and The Zone 97.7 Sports Radio WAVK-FM.
