San Francisco(5-10) got out to a 1-0 lead in the second inning. Heliot Ramos drove in Joey Bart with a double to the left-field warning track. It was the first run batted in for Ramos in his MLB career.
The Giants expanded the gap to three runs in the top of the third. American Heritage High School grad David Villar doubled to right-center field for Wilmer Flores and Darin Ruf to score.
Miami(9-8) began to climb back into the contest in the bottom of the third. Jazz Chisholm Jr. singled up the middle and Jesus Sanchez reached home.
The Fish closed it to 3-2 during the sixth inning. Luis Arraez knocked in Chisholm on a base hit through the right side. In the seventh inning, the Marlins leaped over the Giants to take a 4-3 lead. Pinch-hitter Jorge Soler bashed a go-ahead, two-run homer to center field on a 0-1 pitch with Jean Segura aboard. It was the fifth home run of the season for Soler.
