Samantha Rivera has joined WFOR-TV Channel 4 in Miami as a sportscaster. Mike Cugno and Steve Goldstein remains a part of their on-air sports staff. Longtime sportscaster Jim Berry will be shifted to a news anchor position at that television station.
Rivera co-hosted a podcast for Univision Radio Chicago while she was attending college at DePaul University. She started her professional broadcasting career as a morning news anchor and news reporter for WLUC-TV in Marquette, Michigan. Rivera then was employed at WTVO-TV and WQRF-TV as a sports anchor in Rockford, Illinois.
Rivera made the big leap and was a sportscaster on KSWB-TV in San Diego. She was a bilingual reporter of the San Diego Wave FC in the National Women's Soccer League.
She returned to her hometown of Chicago in September 2022 and became a sportscaster at WMAQ-TV. Rivera also contributed to the sports staff at NBC Sports Chicago and Telemundo Chicago.
