Marlins Walk Off Mariners

     The Miami Marlins got by the Seattle Mariners 6-5 at loanDepot park on Tuesday night. The Marlins returned home following a 10-game road swing. 
     Miami(50-42) moved out to a 2-0 lead in the bottom of the second. Owen Caissie powered a solo home run to right-center field on a 1-0 pitch for his 12th homer of the year. Javier Sanoja later scored on a wild pitch. 
     The Fish made it 3-0 in the third inning. Jakob Marsee knocked in Griffin Conine on a base hit through the right side. 
     The Marlins expanded it to 4-0 during the bottom of the fourth. Stowers hit a sacrifice fly to right field and Liam Hicks crossed the plate. 
     Seattle(47-45) managed two runs in the top of the fifth and they were down 4-2. Luke Raley drove in Cal Raleigh with a sacrifice fly into center field. Cole Young followed with a solo homer over the right-field wall on a 0-1 count for his 10th home run this season. 
     The Mariners took the lead 5-4 in the top of the eighth. Raleigh doubled off the right-field fence and J.P. Crawford reached home. Josh Naylor came up next and singled through the right side for Randy Arozarena to score. Naylor later on scored on a wild pitch to put them ahead for the first time in the contest. 
     Miami evened it up 5-5 in the bottom of the eighth. Heriberto Hernandez smashed a solo home run to left field on a 3-2 pitch for his 12th homer of the 2026 campaign. 
     The Marlins picked up the 6-5 victory in the 10th inning. Marsee singled into right field and Xavier Edwards scored.
