Touchdown Radio Productions made an appearance on local radio airwaves this past weekend. It was unique that all on-air personnel for their college football game broadcast had a connection with South Florida.
Former University of Miami Hurricanes quarterback and Heisman Trophy winner Gino Torretta is the founder, owner and CEO of Touchdown Radio Productions. In addition, he is the game analyst for college football games. Torretta was the late morning host at Sports Radio 560 WQAM-AM from early September 2010 until the end of December 2011.
Former Florida Marlins radio play-by-play announcer Roxy Bernstein was also part of the broadcast as the play-by-play announcer. He worked with the Marlins from 2005 until 2007 alongside Dave Van Horne.
Steve White was the studio host based in Miami during the college football broadcast. He is currently a weekend host and salesperson at WQAM. He once was the late morning sidekick on the Gino Torretta Show from late 2010 until the end of December 2011. White began in the Miami market as the program director for 790 The Ticket WAXY-AM and held that position until September 2009. He was also the early afternoon co-host with Brandon Guzio from May until September 2009.
